CATIA V5 TIPS AND TECHNIQUES
       
 

1. Starting CATIA V5 without assembly work bench.

You know all the times we don’t need an assemblyworkbench to open in the start up of
CATIA V5 and also it takes few minutes of your valuable time to load in memory.

To avoid that follow the below step.

Right click on my computer icon in desktop, select properties and select Advanced
column as shown below.

  
   
 

   
  Click on Environment Variable you will get the below window
   
 
 

Then Click on New (represented above in Red box )

You will get a new blank window as shown below.
Enter the following data
 
 

Please note that Variable name and variable value are case sensitive use caps lock
wherever it is used above.

And say Ok.
  Note 1.
You can create it as system variable also that will work in the similar way but in all user
logins it takes into account.

Note 2.
You need to have administrator privileges or administrator login to do the above steps.

Now you start CATIA V5. It will not open any workbenches in start up.

You can select go for a workbench of your interest.
Hope it saves your time !!!..

2. Changing your plane Size
Some times you may find difficulty when working with planes because it may look small
with large assembly files.

Here the steps to increase the size of your planes !!!..

Go to tools ---> Options ---- > Infrastructure ----- > Part Infrastructure.
   
 
   
  Then come to Axis System Display size (in mm) which is show in above picture and
move the shown cursor to 30.
   
  Say OK.
   
  Now you can find plane size increased. !!..
   
  3. To Increase the Visualization accuracy find below the method.
  When you create a shaft and in CATpart and zoom it more and see. You will see the
below shape instead of round section.
   
 
   
  You can see the lines connected instead of a circle.
   
  To avoid this and increase visibility find below the steps.
   
  Go to Tools ---- > Options --- > General ----- > Display
   
 
   
  Change the 3D accuracy and 2D Accuracy Values to 0.01 as shown in the above
window.
   
  Select Ok.
   
  Done !!.
