Digital simulation and certification of belt run

RAMSIS Electronic Belt Fit Test Device (eBTD) digitally simulates belt run during a journey. Safety is given top priority: engineers and designers use eBTD to perform fast, simple and efficient inspections to check whether or not legal provisions covering a multitude of belt configurations are being adhered to - and to determine the optimal solution. At the same time, user-friendly buckling and unbuckling of the belt is ensured.

eBTD is commensurate with the criteria of the Canadian import laws and replaces the physical BTD test bench during the development phase. Vehicle manufacturers can thus ensure that they are adhering to BTD regulations, even before the first model freeze.

After numerous validation study projects had been carried out, the simulation of belt run with the eBTD was accepted and approved by Transport Canada as the official certification method. RAMSIS eBTD is the only digital test in the world for which certification is legally approved.

eBTD was developed in cooperation with the Joint Working Group Abdominal Injury Reduction, a consortium of various car manufacturers.

  • Significant time and cost savings during the development phase
  • Fulfillment of the conditions for import into North America
  • Reduction of the financial risk involved in importing
