Presagis Introduces Awards to Recognize Groundbreaking Achievements in Modeling and Simulation

Industry innovators to be announced at I/ITSEC 2008

Presagis, a leading provider of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) modeling, simulation and embedded display graphics software, today introduced the Presagis Awards to showcase leading innovation within the modeling and simulation community.

The awards recognize the creative development and deployment of applications in the areas of content creation, simulation, visualization and human-machine interface development. Open to all Presagis customers and partners, the awards celebrate the dedication of developers in the community who support mission-critical programs. Winners will be recognized across seven categories at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation, and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), the world's largest event dedicated to modeling and simulation scheduled for December 1-4, 2008 in Orlando, Florida.

"Modeling and simulation is entering a new era of sophistication. Advances in integrated and high-fidelity technologies are empowering developers to create dynamic scenarios and pioneering embedded systems," said Nick Giannias, Vice President Research and Technology, Presagis. "The Presagis Awards are designed to acknowledge the outstanding achievements and significant contributions that innovative individuals and teams bring to our industry."

Applications, which are available on the Presagis website, will be reviewed by a panel of experts and are open to individual or team nominations. The deadline for submission is October 3, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. EST. The Presagis Awards will recognize one outstanding applicant in each of the following areas:
  • Most Innovative: Recognizes the most advanced and creative use of Presagis tools for new modeling and simulation applications, emerging markets or revolutionary projects.
  • Best Interoperability in Distributed Simulation Environment: Submissions for this award will be evaluated on the number of stations working together and the types of networks in a distributed environment. The award recognizes the program using Presagis software with the most complex or challenging simulation environment.
  • Best Database: Presagis will select a winner in this category based on a database created with Terra Vista. It will be evaluated on criteria that include visual appearance, size and complexity, and formats generated.
  • Best Visualization Application: This award is for Vega Prime users developing visualization applications such as image generators, stealth viewers, or out-the-window views. The winning submission will be recognized by Presagis as having the most unique and innovative uses and applications of 3D rendering technology.
  • Best Use of API: In this category, Presagis is looking for the most original or complete user plug-in, or an additional module, that has extended a Presagis product using a Presagis API. This award will be evaluated on the number of new features added by extension, use of standards and impact on processes.
  • Best 3D Model: For developers creating 3D models using Creator, Presagis will award the best 3D model based on its efficiency, appearance and realism.
  • Most Valuable Industry Partner: Presagis wishes to recognize the partner that has offered a solution of most value to the Presagis customer base. Submissions will be evaluated on partner technology in relation to the Presagis customer experience; specifically, how has the partner solution, in combination with Presagis technology, provided cost and time savings, application performance improvements, and application quality improvements.
