INTRODUCTION

DELMIA allows manufacturers in any industry to virtually define, plan, create, monitor, and control all production processes. It provides an array of dedicated applications for industries, combined with an environment for knowledge-sharing, process and resource management, and the ability to capture and implement best practices for manufacturing.

DELMIA PLM technology allows manufacturers to interact with factory processes early in the design stage and months before actual production commitment. Engineers, management, and stakeholders can have a 3D visualization of the real world with the ability to evaluate “what-if scenarios,” make changes, optimize shop floor operations, and identify and eliminate costly errors and design mistakes. This allows any enterprise to facilitate higher quality and foster greater innovation. DELMIA also extends its PLM technology to smaller businesses within the supply chain to allow smaller companies to better connect and collaborate with larger manufacturers.

Integration of Intercim products into the new DELMIA Operations domain

The recent acquisition of Intercim and its manufacturing execution and quality improvement solutions continues to expand the manufacturing reach of Dassault Systems by defining a new step for PLM that delivers digital continuity from engineering to production operations for all industries. As a result, DELMIA announces the new DELMIA Operations offering that delivers manufacturing execution system solutions that optimize real shop floor processes and improve product quality.

Enhancement to DELMIA Operations provide additional interactive analytic reports

DELMIA – Operations Execution (OEX) and DELMIA – Emergent Process Management (EGP) now provide managers with additional interactive reports to determine the state of production in their area of responsibility, for decision making support. With OEX, managers are now able to determine open critical tasks that prevent a product from moving to the next phase of the manufacturing process. Additionally with EGP, managers can now generate a report by work center that highlights active unplanned events (e.g. machine breakdown) and the temporary processes defined to resolve them (Emergent Process Documents).

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Collaborative PLM

Integration of Intercim products into the new DELMIA Operations domain:

The recent acquisition of Intercim and its manufacturing execution and quality improvement solutions continues to expand the manufacturing reach of Dassault Systems by defining a new step for PLM that delivers digital continuity from engineering to production operations for all industries. As a result, DELMIA announces the new DELMIA Operations offering that delivers manufacturing execution system solutions that optimize real shop floor processes and improve product quality.

The DELMIA Operations domain is further divided into two sub-domains:

Operations Management: These DELMIA Operations products deliver manufacturing execution system capabilities that enable manufactures to replace shop floor paper based processes and work instructions with a pure web based solution. Unique customer business rules are easily configured and enforced assuring process quality and reducing non-value added rework and inspection points. Work instructions are interactive in 0-3D format and improve worker comprehension and data collection quality. Notification events are automatic improving worker collaboration cycle times. Managers are able to quickly discover and react to production bottlenecks.

Operations Intelligence: Many companies find that even when they maintain manufacturing specifications, the end result can still be scrap or poor quality. These DELMIA Operations products leverage real life manufacturing data by identifying the rules of what works and what doesn’t. Once the rules are established production personnel can be informed of a potential problem and are able to reduce the risk by adjusting the process or product parameters. Process owners are provided a way to test the rules against as built data to assure they are still accurate and valid. These patented products provide product and process insight that even the most advanced design of experiment and statistical tools have failed to uncover.

Operations managers using DELMIA – Emergent Process Management (EGP) can specify a subset of work locations to display non-planned events and the production tasks they constrain. Additionally, when managers want to determine if a production unit is ready for transfer to a critical process such as a flight test, they use DELMIA – Operations Execution (OEX) to generate an interactive report that displays a traffic light view of open orders and non-planned events. In both cases the manager is able to drill into and interact with the listed orders and non-planned events allowing them to quickly react to the blocking issues.

New product Announcement: DELMIA – Shop Order Release (SO1)

The new DELMIA – Shop Order Release 1 (SO1) product enables the release of a configured shop order package containing configured production system data and the associated work instructions, for direct use by DELMIA Operations or third-party MES solutions, or simply for viewing on the shop floor. SO1 provides open digital continuity from engineering to real shop floor operations.

DELMIA – Shop Order Release 1 (SO1) enables the release of a Shop Order package (also called as Shop-Order-Instance (SOI) containing the DELMIA - Work Instruction Composer (WKC) data for the requested configuration to production systems, such as DELMIA Operations Management MES solutions, in preparation for the production launch.

The SOIs can be viewed in the shop floor with standalone 3DVIA Composer Player or a MES-integrated application such as DELMIA - Work Instructions Player Visual (WPV) or DELMIA - Work Instructions Player Interactive (WPI).

New Product Announcement: DELMIA – Process Context Builder 1 (PC1)

The new DELMIA – Process Context Builder 1 (PC1) delivers DELMIA – Work Instruction Composer (WKC) users the capability to quickly get the context for a specific work instruction in the most desirable 3D view, based on the state of the product assembly at that specific stage or based on surrounding parts/resources via a bounding-box definition.

DELMIA – Process Context Builder 1 (PC1) delivers to the user of DELMIA – Work Instruction Composer the capability to compute and filter the desired context, based on the state of the product assembly at a given stage of the process plan (Manufacturing Context) or the surrounding parts (Volumetric Context).

PC1 provides tools to define and load the persisted 3D Manufacturing or Volumetric Context. It also provides powerful tools to compute on-the-fly a volume-filtered Manufacturing context for a process plan. It’s an add-on product to DELMIA-Work Instruction Composer (WKC) for the authoring of the context and complements DELMIA-Shop Order Release 1 (SO1) for the extraction to the shop floor of context related data.
